Your All-In-One may include a photo cartridge instead of a black print cartridge. www.lexmark.com 2 Connect the power cord to the power supply. 3 Make sure the power light is on. Before you continue, remove the photo cartridge from the print cartridge storage unit. 2 Note: You may need to purchase a USB cable separately. Note: Save the print cartridge storage unit to protect any open cartridges not in use. 1 4 Press to scroll to your language and then press . 5 Lift the paper support and extend the paper exit tray. 6 1 Pull back the transparent deflector. 2 Load the paper flat and to the right. 3 Squeeze the paper guide. Slide it to the right until it is snug. 7 Lift the scanner unit. 2 3 1 8 Remove the sticker and tape from the print cartridges. 9 Left: photo or black 1 Open the cartridge lids by pressing the front tabs. 2 Insert the cartridges and push them down firmly. 3 Snap the lids tight. Right: color only 10 Close the scanner unit. 11 Press to print an alignment page. 1 2 2 3 1 1 2 1 2 3 Safety information CAUTION: Do not set up this product or make any electrical or cabling connections, such as the power supply cord or telephone, during a lightning storm. · Use only the power supply provided with this product or the manufacturer's authorized replacement power supply. · Connect the power supply cord to an electrical outlet that is near the product and easily accessible. · Refer service or repairs, other than those described in the user documentation, to a professional service person. You may discard the page after it prints. Steps 12­15 If you are using your All-In-One without a computer, you are finished. 12 Make sure your computer is on. 13 Connect the USB cable. 14 Important! Click Cancel on all New Hardware screens. Windows 98/Me Software To prevent errors during installation: 1 Close all open programs. 2 Temporarily disable any anti-virus software. For help, refer to your program documentation, or contact the software manufacturer for support. Note: After installation is complete, remember to re-enable your anti-virus software. Windows Lexmark 3300 Series Lexmark 3300 Series Macintosh If you are using your All-In-One with a computer, continue to step 12. 2 1 Windows 2000/XP Note: New Hardware screens appear only on Windows systems. For Macintosh systems, continue to step 15. 15 Insert the CD. Follow the instructions on your computer screen. Windows If you inserted the CD and the installation screen did not appear: 1 Click Cancel on all New Hardware screens. 2 Eject and reinsert the All-In-One software CD. If the All-In-One software installation screen does not appear: a From your desktop, double-click My Computer. (If using Windows XP, click Start My Computer.) b Double-click the CD-ROM drive icon. If necessary, double-click setup.exe. c When the All-In-One software installation screen appears, click Install. d Follow the instructions on the screen. Setup Troubleshooting Symptom Power light is not lit Diagnosis Is the power cord pushed all the way into the All-In-One? Solution Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet and then from the All-InOne. Reconnect the power cord by pushing it all the way into the power supply on the All-In-One and then into the wall outlet. Connect the All-In-One to an electrical outlet that other electrical devices have been using. The All-In-One supports these operating systems: · · · · · Windows 98 Windows Me Windows 2000 Windows XP Mac OS X version 10.2.3 and later Is the All-In-One connected to a working electrical outlet? Software will not install Is your operating system compatible with the Lexmark All-In-One? Macintosh If you inserted the CD and the installation screen did not appear: 1 From your desktop, double-click the Lexmark 3300 Series Installer icon. 2 Double-click Install, and follow the instructions on the screen. Alignment page or test page will not print Is the All-In-One on? Press the Power button. If the Power light does not come on, see the "Power light is not lit" symptom at the beginning of this table. See "Error messages troubleshooting" in your User's Guide. Disconnect the USB cable from any other devices and connect it directly between the All-In-One and your computer. For help, see step 13. Remove the print cartridges, check for the sticker and tape and then reinsert the cartriddges. For help, see steps 7, 8, and 9. Do you see an error message? Did you remove the sticker and tape from the bottom of each print cartridge? Are the print cartridges installed properly? Is the paper loaded correctly? Control panel displays text in the wrong language Did you select a language? Photo Black Color See step 6. 1 Press the Power button to turn off the All-In-One. 2 Press and hold both the Power and Cancel buttons for 10 seconds. Language text appears on the display. 3 Press the + button repeatedly until the language you want appears on the display. 4 Press the Arrow button to select that language.
